Programs
South Lansing Ministries provides basic human needs services to community residents in order to empower people and end poverty. Our volunteers participate in every aspect of our activities. They transport, sort, stock, and distribute food and personal needs items. They grow food for the food bank in our garden.
Food Bank
We are a partner of the Greater Lansing food bank. We serve an average of 250 individuals per month. If you are in need food, please call 517-853-8073 to schedule a pick up on Monday or Thursday between 10:00 am - 12 pm.
Personal Items
Our Personal Needs Closet provides person hygiene products, infant diapers, and feminine hygiene products, and more. These personal needs items are available to our clients when they pick up their order from our food pantry on Mondays and Thursdays.
Computer Assistence
Community members and clients use our computers and internet connection to complete job searches and applications, apply for benefits, and engage with their children's teachers.
The Computer Bank is open on an as-needed basis, Mondays and Thursdays, 10 am - 2pm. Please call ahead to arrange use.
Community Garden
We provide fresh produce in season from our Community Garden. Items include peppers, various types of tomatoes, zucchini, acorn squash, cabbage, kale, lettuce, swiss chard and several herbs.
Information & Referral
We offer referral services for other needs, such as healthcare, utility assistance, and housing. We are members of the Lansing Christian Services Network.
