Community Garden Plot

Spearheaded by Michelle Taylor, a long time member of our Board of Directors, SLM decided to plant a garden so that we could provide fresh produce to our clients.  After attending many training sessions and planting free seed from the resource center, we were off and working on our plot at the Alfreda Schmidt Community Center Garden. With minimal cost, but with lots of hard work from Michelle, her family, and other Board members, the SLM garden provided green, banana and habanero peppers, various types of tomatoes, zucchini, acorn squash, cabbage, kale, lettuce, swiss chard and several herbs.

Everyone seems to love the addition of fresh produce!
